The first part of our season has ended in the worst possible way. Let this be a wake up call for us that we have to improve and strive to play better football. I personally believe if we cant do it in SUNIG we cant do it against better stronger teams in IVP, unless of course we improve. Having said that, NUS finished third in last year's SUNIG games by just collecting three points (they lost to NTU and SIM). But in the end they went on to win IVP the same year. Lets take a little bit of encouragement from that. For those not informed, we are grouped together with SMU, NUS, RP and TP for IVP. Fight for IVP final 22 starts on wednesday. See you guys.

Training on wednesday.
7pm
Attire: Red
All are welcomed.

I agree with what Fer said. I spent the whole night thinking. Lets not kid ourselves, our near-strongest team lost to their less-than-strongest team. Fabian didn't play. Vincent hardly played 10 mins. And them jollylad gunners Chengwei and Sudhi played 45 mins or lesser. If we want to do what NUS did last year, we have a lot to improve.

hi everyone, what i feel is that while we have plenty more to work on, lets not over-stress ourselves and also enjoy the process of training together as a team and also playing football together. i believe that working hard, enjoying the game and getting good results are all strongly co-related to each other.

so while we definitely did not get the results we want, from title challenger to eventually finishing only 3rd out of 4th, and while we reflect what we need to improve and what we need to work on, do also bear in mind that this should not affect the enjoyment of playing the game and playing together as a team.

for the technical aspects i think coach will address but then i feel that passing wise, there is some problems as many neutral parties who were watching the game felt that we lack cutting edge and bite attacking. guess they probably see us as only punting the ball and hoping for the best. not sure if it is due to a lack of off-the-ball running that the holder of the ball could not find enough passing options for the team to build up a move. just my 2 cents worth.

anyway personally i would like to thank everyone for encouraging me so much during the entire tournament and i know what i have to work on in order to become a better keeper. cya on wed!~

whoeva nus or nyp or smu or wateva other team ntu will play against, put in their first 11 doesnt matter...come on... wat Fabian? wat Vincent? so wat...if u tink ur not good enuff, dont play for ntu...there are many others on the bench or not even in the squad who wants to be in the squad but are kept out by those on the field...justify ur places in the team... it's good that ntu lost...new coach new ideas...there is time...it's only one loss...all men will fall in their lives...but greatness comes in how they pick themselves from it... there is time... but will u guys rise to the challenge???

i think it is good that we are disappointed over the recent SUniG.

i dun think we gave a accurate account of ourselves over the 3 games. and for me, that is the most disappointing part, if we did not play as well as we should.

but, personally, i think the final standing is quite a fair reflection of the teams' performances. it is no shame and there is still time for us to improve. let this be a kick up our butt and be the motivation for IVP.

and i dun think we need to be overly concern about other teams' players or performances. let's just focus on NTU, on our play and strengths. let's train and play with heart for the next 3 months and show everyone what we are made of come IVP.

i suppose most of us understand and are able to experience the aftertaste of bitterness and frustration when we do not perform as well as we could/should have done.. positives and encouragement have been ushered, but is it really ok? i mean, some of us (myself included) will definitely come out and pronounce their harsh words, because we feel the team was not playing up to our standard, and not playing what we've been practising.. i disagree we have had a good tournament, we never really controlled any of the 3 games we played.. but, as i've said before, the future's bright, the potential is there.. i stress the word potential, cause it means nothing if the level is not breached.. so while we feel empty and hug a sense of disappointment, it should end by tml at 7, for a new chapter will unveil.. let's look at areas which we have to improve and really focus on them.. i really treasure the time spent with every single one of you guys at training, let's put in our best effort to avoid repeated this sense of deja vu next jan.. let's go guys! let's work hard and smart! this team really means a lot to me, and i'm sure to all of us.. we all want NTU to do well, so train like we do and play like so.. sorry for this long post..

hey cmon everybody, i see ppl saying we didnt pass well enough, ppl saying we didnt control the game and blah blah blah.

well this shows we were no where near what we are capable of. if we were controlling the game and passing well and still losing, then theres a need to worry because theres not much more we can do about it. in our situation, we have lots of room for improvement and development.

we hurt and are dissappointed because we care and are passionate about playing with each other and for ntu.

the attitude is right, the body is willing, the believe must not flounder. train hard, trust the coach, enjoy the game and let your boots do the talking.

don't be so obtuse shahril. it is the players who make the team. the fact that an NUS side can win comfortably without fielding their best 11 players is something worth reflecting upon. we went from a win to a draw to a lost. and on two occasions we relinquished 1-0 leads. if we don't make a concerted effort to improve ourselves individually, we're not gonna qualify again for IVP.

Chill guys..
Just reflect, work harder and make things happen
Hope by then everyone is focused on one common goal.
i dont care who the opponents did/didnt have, what matters is how we played.
in defeat, look not at just the negatives but the positives that u can build on to better augment the team.
