Guys,
I know we have just ended one competition, but preparations for IVP must start early. Many of you have trained hard for the past few months, and may be tired out from the competition. Some of you mite be thinking of taking a short break to recover fully from tiredness or injuries. But you have to sound it out so that we are aware of your progress. However, i trust that you are truthful and responsible towards the excuses you come up with.
There will be changes. So dont think if you are in the SUniG squad, you are half way to securing your place in the IVP squad. I see many putting their commitment to train (this does not refer only to SUniG squad, but others who also come down), wanting to prove your worth in the team, but i also see many not putting in the effort. Basically, we dont have the hunger. Certainly, none of us will wanna look back and regret putting in a poor performance for IVP. We have to start now and raise the level one step higher than SUniG.
There is no time to waste. This period would be a good time to rectify the problems we have. Also, it is a good time for your ownselves to work on your strength, fitness, gym work, ball skills and so on. Remember, it not only what you do on the field, but also how you improve on other aspects off the field. And what you do in training, will determine how you are gonna perform in competitions. So if you are not putting effort in training, then you better pull up your socks. I hope you all will stretch your commitment till we officially stop training for preparation of exams.
As mentioned, training is supposed to stand down to twice a week. However, some of us feel that it may be necessary to have a third session where we should be having at least one friendly match per week. We'll see how it goes.
So those who are carrying injuries, go and get it properly treated. It cant be possible that a minor injury takes such a long time to recover. It also means that you dont take enough care to treat your injuries.
I hope i have set the tone clear for IVP 2009/2010, because i dont wanna look back and regret not having done well for IVP again.
