Jollilads Training..

Hi Guys, all interested in weekly training are encouraged to join the Jollilads training under Coach Arasu or Uncle Sam, either at NUS or NTU.. It presents a good opportunity to maintain our ball sense, fitness, integrate skills learnt from each other and also make more friends.. For updates, pls do check out the combined uni blog (the link is expertly provided on the top right of the blog)..

Attire: Any..
Do remember to bring your own water bottles..

Run Around Singapore AGAIN

Run around participants, below are the details for the run this saturday.

Dear student athletes,

It’s great to know that you have come on board to celebrate NTU 55th Anniversary by offering to run at the first station of the Run Round Singapore. The first station will be at the Chinese Heritage Centre and participants are expected to arrive at 7.15am, 27 March 2010. The run will be flagged off at 8.30am sharp.

The University really wants to start off this event with a big bang. Thus, a big turnout at the start is essential. Besides, a big turnout will be an additional motivation for the 9 core runners who will be attempting the full distance of 218km. As athletes, we know it is not an easy feat and so, let us give our utmost support to them by standing beside / behind / around them at the start point !

So, rain or shine, see you at the Chinese Heritage Centre this Saturday!

Reporting Details

Time: 7.15 am, Flag off for the run will be at 8.30 am.
Attire: Black Shorts with White NTU spirit jersey. Those who do not have it, a white T-shirt/jersey would suffice. Event will end as soon as we complete the run.

Team Bonding

Manfred won a lucky draw at the IVP finals, 2D1N Chalet at Downtown East. Being the gracious and generous person, he is donating the prize to NTU football for team bonding, ie to mark the end of this season. If majority are agreeable, the chalet would probably be held after exams.Pls post at the COMMENTS section if you're ON. If you think you have better things to do or find chalets lame, then just ignore this post.

Run Around Singapore Repost (Urgent)

Hey peeps
Unfortunately, the managament has informed me that participation for the above mentioned is COMPULSORY. All of the players mentioned below are required to turn up. You will note that graduating players have been left out as this is targeted for those who want to be part of the team for next season. If you are not graduating and decided you won't be playing football for NTU next season, you do not have to attend(but pls indicate at the comments section).

For the others,You can only be excused if you have valid reasons. If you do have a valid reason, pls contact me asap. This is because if i don't hear from you by wednesday 17 March, i wil assume that you would be able to make it and i will submit your name for the run. You are referred to my earlier post for details of the run. Thanks.

IVP Updates

ITE won their 1st leg with final score of 3-1 against TP at TP home ground.
NUS has marginal advantage of 1 away goal over NYP at NYP home ground (1-1).

Next match between ITE and TP is on friday at ITE east at 5pm.
Nexth match between NUS and NYP at NUS will be next monday at 7pm.

FINALS: 19 March 2010 5pm at ITE East

"Predict the Total Goals" and "Predict the Winning Team" LUCKY DRAWS with IPOD shuffles, 2d1n chalet stay vouchers and soccer balls to be won at the finals.

There will also be participation medals given out to all teams. All encouraged to turn up.

Run Around Singapore Sports Competition (5-A-Side)

There would be soccer 5-a-side (M) competition on 28/3, Sun, afternoon 2.30 to 8pm. Registration is FREE yet attractive prizes and goodie bags will be given

1st Prize: $200 NTUC Voucher + Medal + Goodie Bag

2nd Prize: $150 NTUC Voucher + Medal + Goodie Bag

Joint 3rd Prize: $100 NTUC Voucher + Medal + Goodie Bag

Would like you guys/gal to help to encourage your teammates to get friends/hall-mates/school-mates/etc (they don’t even need to be NTU students!! General public welcome!) to form teams to have a fun-filled afternoon. Registration deadline is 10/3/10.

Run Round Singapore

Anybody interested in taking part in the first leg of the run (3.1 km) on 27 of March?. It will just take a few hours. It will be good if we can get a few representatives (preferably half of the team) for NTU soccer. Please text me or reply here if you are free and interested by this SATURDAY. Pls refer below for the details.


As part of the university’s 55th anniversary celebrations, alumni, students, staff and supporters of NTU will be coming together to take part in a record-breaking 218km relay run, Run Round Singapore, which will be held from Sat 27 to Sun 28 March 2010. The start of the run will be on 27 March (Sat), 8.30am (flag-off time) at the Chinese Heritage Centre.

This event has a non-competitive mass relay section that involves members of the public. We as members of the NTU community have to set a good example by turning up in full force. We want a strong turnout in thousands at the start of the run.

The route of the first station is approximately 3.1km and it covers Nanyang Drive (CHC), turning left onto Lien Ying Chow Drive and all the way straight until just before NIE, turning right onto Nanyang Walk and then, turning right onto Nanyang Crescent and ending at the open field opposite the Graduate Hall.
